Under general supervision, the specialist exercises discretion and applies practical knowledge to support and manage special projects, initiatives and operational improvements across departments working collaboratively with plant and staff leadership to help drive regulatory compliance. Serves as point of contact for stakeholders and project partners, owning schedule coordination, document management and communication support.
Your day to day:
- Actively participates in small cross-functional teams to drive manufacturing operations changes or improvements toward corporate and regulatory environment and employee compliance standards.
- Seeks to provide advanced input to and oversee various support functions in conjunction with or in support of operational improvement projects including policy development and establishing best practices.
- Promotes safety first culture. Practices and promotes safe work habits and adheres to safety procedures and guidelines
- Supports and helps maintain operations and regulatory projects roadmap that captures initiatives and mitigates risks.
- Provides manufacturing operations strategic support, leading multiple efforts in various areas of day-to-day operations in the plant
- Executes tasks efficiently and with minimal direction. Incorporates best practices that can be applied to improve work tasks and processes
- Coordinates efforts effectively with team members, supervisors, and other involved groups to ensure priorities are understood by the team, problems are identified and offers plans for resolution with deliverables that are relevant to the higher-level scope
- Works on significant and sometimes complex issues, managing requests from different departments, and responding to those requests in a timely manner, liaising with both internal and external team members, clients, and safety regulatory authorities
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree required with area of study in business, management or Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent.
- 3 years’ minimum relevant experience. 3-6 years in manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of manufacturing organization.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
Skills:
- Strong communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Solid judgment and decision making based on data analysis and interpretation.
- Can quickly change focus, act independently, and is comfortable with a broadly defined scope of work.
- Must be MS Office proficient, professional and customer focused.
- Effective at prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.
Abilities:
- Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicating effectively (both orally and in writing).
- Capable of providing organized, concise project and program support.
- Proven track record of supporting leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.
