Under the direction of the Director, Strategy & Planning, the Senior Manager, IT PMO Operational Excellence Lead will have responsibility for establishing and operating the PMO Center of Excellence that will focus on excellence IT project execution, Agile coaching, PMO performance, collaboration with EPMO, and other essential functions. This role will need to engage with the Business Units/Functions across the corporation to ensure PMO is meeting the needs of the Enterprise.   This is a US ONLY mobile/remote role.


Your Day to Day:

- Establish and run PMO CoE including serving as IT liaison to EPMO Operations leadership. Drive change management efforts to facilitate adoption of modern portfolio management practices

- Lead IT Agile rollout across WEC.  Establish frameworks for Agile training material and coaching

- Lead and manage development and maintenance of procedures, best practices and methodologies in support of the project lifecycle.

- Lead PMO auditing.  Collaborate with IT compliance leadership to establish and conduct PMO audits.  Hold responsible parties accountable for deviations.

- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of PMO processes and methodologies

- Coordinate/Collaborate with business unit/function leads on project prioritization and resourcing

- Enhance PMO performance through development and tracking of performance metrics

- Coordinate with IT Managers in getting completing data analysis for IT Demand & Capacity efforts to improve IT decision-making

- Collaborate with Directors and Managers to resolve issues/discrepancies related to project priority or resourcing


Who You Are:

  • BA in Business Administration, BS in Computer Information Science, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years Portfolio/Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in management/leadership. Able to foster cross-functionally collaboration to align teams towards a common objective.
  • Results-driven with focus on operational excellence based on clear business outcomes.  Able to gain consensus of recommended solutions or approaches that are targeted to achieve specific outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with emphasis on Scrum.  Able to support project teams in adopting Agile approaches where appropriate.
  • Experienced in developing, deploying, maintaining and improving processes and procedures. Able to perform business process analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, create effective action plans, and implement rapidly.
  • Competent in Operation Excellence philosophies and tools, as well as when and how to use the tools to optimize processes.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.  Able to articulate complex concepts with simple narratives.  Comfortable speaking in front of senior leadership.  Strong presentation and analytical skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and persistent.  Must be able to influence effectively with and without authority.  Also, must be able to effectively operate in an ambiguous/changing environment.
