If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for Principal Storage Engineer to join our Platform Services team.  This is a Mobile role, with candidates near our CWHQ, or other SW PA locations.

Your Day-to-Day:

Perform advanced system administration of corporate Business Enterprise Storage & Backup platforms. This includes installation and configuration of the base platforms, participating in the design and deployment of security updates, coordination of application support, and ongoing support of storage and backup systems in the corporate and customer environments.  Expectation of working closely with application team to deploy applications and resolve issues.

  • Build, maintain, and operate the Westinghouse Enterprise Storage and Backup Infrastructure as part of a team
  • Assist with backup administration tasks as needed
  • Work with other Westinghouse teams and vendors to perform storage/backup break/fix work and troubleshoot issues as necessary
  • On-Site installation and decommissioning of equipment, data center cabling, etc.
  • Develop and document written procedures for new processes
  • Develop automation and scripting for common storage and backup tasks

Required Skills:

  • Primary Storage - Pure FlashArray, Pure FlashBlade, HPE MSA
  • Fibre Channel SAN - Cisco/Brocade - Fibre Channel SAN switching and zoning
  • NAS: SMB/NFS - Understanding of permissions, high availability, etc
  • Host OS - Storage management, troubleshooting, provisioning/migrations
    • VMWare/ESXi
    • Windows Server - 2012/16/19+
    • Linux - SUSE 12, 15 and RHEL/Oracle Enterprise Linux
  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting- (protocols, firewalls, IP addressing, VLANs, OSI Model, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues in a complex environment.
  • Execute activities for multiple short- and long-term projects while adhering to all project management standards.

 Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • 5+ years of storage and backup system administration experience
  • 4-Year Degree or equivalent in one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or another related field
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Possess a mindset for identifying, analyzing, and efficiently solving variety of system related problems
  • Exhibits a drive for producing work that adheres to quality standards and follows defined processes and procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Effective communications skills, written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment 
  • Attention to detail and naming standards

  • SSL Certificate Management
  • HPE and Cisco UCS Server Experience
  • Legacy Storage - EMC VNX, NetApp FAS, Synology
  • Python/Bash, scripting knowledge
  • Enterprise Backup skills - Cohesity
  • Create Protection Groups and job policies
  • Installing/upgrading agents
  • Restore systems and files
  • Bare metal restores for physical servers
  • Understand disaster recovery concepts; RTO, RPO, replication, failover, and fail back.  Zerto and SRM Experience is a plus
  • Azure Cloud Experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Highly organized and task focused
  • Motivated to self-learn and develop


Extra Consideration for Candidates with knowledge and experience in:

  • Business management, marketing, and product line support

Experience with cyber security, CIS benchmarks, and remediation
