Your Day-to-Day:
- Ensuring personal, industrial, and nuclear safety is a core aspect of daily work.
- Fostering Nuclear Safety Culture Traits and Human Performance Tools both internally at Westinghouse and with suppliers.
- De-risking new suppliers through rigorous technical assessments and development.
- Identifying, proposing, and implementing performance enhancements.
- Leading timely resolution of complex quality and technical issues.
- Implementing dual sourcing strategies to mitigate risks associated with single-source suppliers, including project risk identification and management, supplier process document approval, process capability analyses, and more.
- Conducting technical assessments of new suppliers for manufacturing capability, compliance with regulations, and associated risks.
- Leading supplier development activities to enhance quality management systems and manufacturing processes to meet Westinghouse standards.
- Performing on-site and remote supplier oversight to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements.
- Managing internal and supplier corrective action requests, conduct cause analyses, and verify completion of preventive and corrective actions.
- Leading and escalating significant quality events, ensuring prompt identification, product disposition, and corrective action.
- Evaluating procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify dual sourcing opportunities, assess feasibility, clarify requirements, and communicate expectations effectively to suppliers.
- Cultivating strong relationships with our suppliers.
- Analyzing market trends and industry benchmarks to optimize supplier selection and performance.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Dual Mexico/US citizenship strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree Required (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 6 year required; 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering or manufacturing
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly, etc.
- Experience in process capability analysis and qualification
- Familiarity with Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs, etc.
- Ability to manage project tasks, develop schedules, and control expenditure
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple concurrent cross-functional projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint)
- Experience in authoring technical documents or operating procedures
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Results-oriented and self-driven with a questioning attitude
- Effective decision-maker based on data, facts, and input
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Experience with nuclear products and standards preferred
- Project management experience is desirable
