The ESS I&C Project Portfolio Manager will have portfolio-level accountability for Tier 1 and Tier 2 LTO/Major Instrumentation and Control projects in America’s Engineered Systems & Solutions segment.  This portfolio includes 20+ projects ranging in size from small task-orders to projects of medium size and complexity in the $2-100M range, involving significant financial, technical, contractual and resource commitments.  Provide strategic direction to project management personnel and project participants to optimize short- and long-term profitability. Develop, implement and monitor project management systems and controls. Work with partners in ESS Projects to develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of the competency and talent management of project management personnel.  Accountabilities include Execution Excellence - MAD/MAS, Quality, Schedule, Customer Satisfaction, Project Management Competency Development & Talent Management.


Your Day to Day:

  • Responsible – through the performance of project managers – to meet or exceed as-sold financial objectives of all contracts (MAD>MAS), as well as Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Customer Satisfaction.  Where possible, accelerate backlog work to maximize margin creation.
  • Work with partner organizations to formulate strategies and cost estimates for new projects.
  • Responsible to meet all project portfolio contract commitments.
  • Work to maintain consistent project management systems and controls for various projects assuring senior management is provided with up-to-date and accurate reports of each project status.
  • Establish staffing levels and annual budgets for project operations. Make job assignments, supervise and direct efforts of department personnel. Replace or supplement personnel to maintain organizational excellence.
  • Coordinate and work closely with Westinghouse management.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the various stakeholders including external customers, suppliers, internal partners and WEC management.
  • Support financial planning objectives.
  • Manage large portfolio of projects ranging in size from $2M to $100M delivering over $100M of annual revenue to ESS P&Ls.  Responsible – through the performance of project managers – to meet or exceed as-sold financial objectives of all contracts (MAD>MAS).
  • Responsible for direct report of approximately 12 personnel.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science
    • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in leading large, complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
    • Increasing levels of demonstrated project management skills including cost and schedule control.
  • Trained and skilled in financial, cost and contract management aspects of managing a project. Demonstrated ability to form highly effective teams.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills and interpersonal relations.
