Supply and Demand Planning Manager – Non Fuel Components - 100% REMOTE POSITION

The Supply and Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for component manufacturing supply and demand planning and forecasting processes.  The manager will interpret multiple sources of information to create an accurate representation of future demand behavior by external customer (Business Unit) and internal business segments. 

This position will work closely with the Business Unit, Supply Chain, financial analysts, and controllers to develop a monthly demand plan by customer, market, channel, plant, product line, with accuracy and bias.

This position will lead the aggregation and analysis of topline demand forecasts and highlight risks and opportunities pertaining to customer, market, and economic factors, enabling senior leadership the support analysis needed to drive improved profitability, volume growth and achieve channel objectives.

This position is responsible for guiding and supporting product/project account managers, supply chain planners and production schedulers in philosophies and processes related to a world class demand planning organization.

Output will then be used to produce a build plan forecast that is handed off for local production scheduling.

Your Day to Day:

  • Drive the monthly consensus demand planning process, including reporting aggregate plans to senior management on forecasts, assumptions, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead the coordination of customer forecasts and demand inputs from BU stakeholders, Supply Chain, New Product and Program management teams
  • Document and challenge forecast assumptions based on the analysis of market data, industry dynamics, statistics, business trends and demand patterns
  • Provide leadership, drives organizational capability, and sets objectives, leading to continuous improvement of the forecasting process and the adoption of best practices
  • Monitor changes in key business drivers, perform analysis and possess ability to shape the analytical findings into a meaningful business story to drive decision making
  • Develop accountability for demand management through performance measures and provide feedback to participants in the process
  • Participate in detailed supply analysis and review meetings; work with business to collect key planning issues, clarify business implications, outline countermeasures, plan and monitor progress
  • Owns SIOP KPI’s and drives accountability through cross-functional teams to drive maturity
  • Output will then be used to produce a build plan forecast that is handed off for local site management team
  • Serve as an active member of the Global Materials Management council fulfilling leadership duties and providing input for strategy, direction, and continuous improvement for the SIOP process

What you need to be successful in this role: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Operations / Materials Management, Supply Chain preferred
  • 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Materials Management or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or plant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a major ERP system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, QAD)
  • APICS Certified Production Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impacts
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and document complex business processes and systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and teamwork skills
  • Expertise in aligning business challenges to an IT systems design
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Proficiency in using Power Point and Excel
  • Strong project management experience with demonstrated history of driving accomplishments through a team
  • Ability to lead a global team in the development and implementation of initiatives in a highly matrixed environment
  • Understanding of SIOP, inventory management, scheduling, capacity planning, & materials replenishment
  • Working knowledge of materials replenishment analysis and execution, including pull systems
  • Working knowledge of capacity management and modeling
  • Experience with driving business process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in a leadership role in driving change in the organization
