Operations Production Planner

OPERATIONS PLANNER

Perform various assignments and related site support duties within a highly technical engineering laboratory environment.   Team with management to support daily laboratory testing and operation activities.  Job duties for this position are specific to the Westinghouse Churchill Site laboratory operations.  This position requires working at the Westinghouse Churchill site.

Develop and implement production/maintenance/materials schedules to maximize the use of the site’s resources or materials.  Meet established specifications, schedules, and quality standards.  Work with technical teams, engineering, and supply chain to produce schedules and estimate the labor, tools, and equipment needed to support laboratory testing, site operations and repair equipment or systems to minimize laboratory testing and site operations interruptions.  Monitor activity and analyze data so laboratory testing can meet project requirements.  Adjust schedules to accommodate backlog, emergent customer testing and analysis needs, project testing changes, and equipment, material, or labor shortages.  Prepare work orders for facility or purchase requests based on project schedules or maintenance needs.  Evaluate project/testing specifications and site resources capacity data to determine required processes, and equipment and operator utilization.  Work independently with general supervision.  Influence others within the job through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. 

• Develop and implement production/maintenance/resource/project schedules to maximize the use of the site’s resources and meet established specifications. 
• Input and track project workflow, operational data, procedure review/updates coordination, work execution (schedule, budget, customer commitments) and action items.
• Track and schedule recurring site inspections and activities.
• Manage, track and coordinate equipment service contracts (submit vendor purchase order requests, schedule, and arrange for onsite vendor visits)

INTERACTIONS

Frequent interaction with site personnel and internal contacts.  Occasional interaction with external contacts, customers and/or vendors

DIRECTION RECEIVED

General procedures have been established for most work.  Work subject to normal check.  Receive specific instructions on new or special work from management and occasional guidance from higher classified personnel, including technicians and engineers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree, (project, operations or business management preferred)
• Minimum of 1-3 years previous experience in a similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superb organizational skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to learn.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
