Opportunity Overview:

 

 

WECTEC Staffing is currently seeking a motivated and team-oriented Light Fabrication Tech at our Westinghouse affiliated location in Burr Ridge, Illinois, approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. This established company is dedicated to nuclear reactor safety and chemical reactor safety, and its staff are known for their innovations related to the prevention and accommodation of chemical and nuclear plant accidents.  The services they provide reflect the skill and knowledge of a group of individuals dedicated to providing the best means of protecting mankind and the environment.  Our ideal candidate will have a background in a manufacturing and/or production/assembly setting, and will have general shop and tool related experience, experience with light fabrication/assembly, and preference will be given to candidates who also have a background and knowledge in electronics and electronic components.

 

What your day-to-day looks like:

 

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety conscious environment;
  • Fulfill orders daily, involving light manufacturing, fabrication, and/or assembly;
  • Produce quality products according to specifications/plans, while focusing on quality and safety;
  • Perform general labor tasks associated with machine and facility maintenance;
  • Operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment with minimal supervision;
  • Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools including but not limited to drill press, spot welder, wet saw, and grinders;
  • Use electronics instruments such as multimeter, soldering iron, etc.;
  • Assist in the manufacturing of calorimetry equipment and consumable items;
  • Assist in activities associated with shipping and receiving.

 

What we’d like to see from you:

 

  • A High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Electronics background strongly preferred;
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.;
  • The ability to multi-task while remaining efficient and effective;
  • Be self-motivated, have a good work ethic, and possess the ability to work with others;
  • Have a positive attitude;
  • Have good communication skills.
