Radiation Protection Instructor - Palisades, MI 

INPO certified 

Long-term contract 

 

      • Revise and deliver lesson plans that meet all current site training requirements.
      • Revise and deliver laboratory training lesson plans and evaluation guides that meet all current site training requirements.
      • Develop or revise required evaluation materials as needed throughout the program. This may consist of written exam questions, Dynamic Learning Activity (DLAs), and laboratory evaluations.
      • Conduct student reviews and follow up meetings to meet the program requirements of supporting and monitoring candidate performance.
      • Respond to feedback received from training observations conducted.
      • Perform SAT instructional duties as assigned by M&T Training Manager


Education and Experience Requirements:  

  • The Position requires: A high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and six years nuclear facility experience, four years of which must be in the subject matter related to the trainer position; or, A Bachelor’s degree relevant to the subject matter and 4 years of subject matter related experience.
  • A BS degree in any field, two years instructor experience in a technical field or certification in vocational or adult education is preferred.
  • An INPO instructor certification is highly desired.


Skills:  

  • This position requires the ability to: read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • This position requires the ability to: work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • This position requires the ability to: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • This position requires the ability to interact positively, have good organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills and have strong presenter/facilitator skills.
  • This position requires a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
