About the role:

Franklin, VA

The Auxiliary Operator supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a power generation facility by overseeing, operating, and inspecting plant equipment and systems. You will assist with plant startups, shutdowns, and normal operating activities while ensuring equipment operates within established parameters. The Auxiliary Operator performs inspections, maintains logs, responds to abnormal operating conditions, and assists maintenance personnel. In emergency situations involving fuel handling systems, you may also operate heavy equipment to maintain fuel supply to the station.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help with the startup, shutdown, and daily operation of power plant systems and equipment.
• Monitor, inspect, and operate auxiliary systems including water treatment, cooling, condensate, and air compressor systems.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, testing, minor repairs, and adjustments.
• Implement operating instructions, equipment clearances, and lockout/tagout activities following plant procedures.
• Maintain operating logs and report abnormal conditions while taking corrective action as required.
• Support maintenance activities and plant outages.
• Operate heavy equipment to maintain fuel supplies.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years experience in power generation, industrial operations, manufacturing, utilities, or a related technical environment preferred.
• Read and interpret operating procedures, drawings, and technical documents.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $35.00/hour to $40.00/hour.
