About the role: Contract Concrete Specialist opportunity. This is a remote position reporting to the Concrete and Seismic Analysis Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
BEPD is looking for a Concrete Materials Expert (or Specialist). The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in managing the selection, design, testing, and quality control of concrete mixes and concrete constituents to ensure structural integrity, durability, and compliance with specifications; as well as troubleshooting on-site issues, and bridging laboratory testing with field application.
- Mix Design Development: Evaluate concrete mixtures (cement, aggregates, admixtures) based on strength, workability, and durability.
- Quality Assurance/Control: Work with potential suppliers and oversee their testing programs (slump, air, strength, maturity) and interpret results to ensure adherence to standards (ASTM, ACI), as well to European standards applicable in Poland.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide field support for placing, curing, and finishing, while diagnosing issues like cracking or improper setting.
- Compliance and Reporting: Monitor project specifications, maintain documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Work Environment
- This is a remote, part-time contractor position with project-based work as it becomes available, and the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-10+ years in concrete materials, civil engineering, or related construction roles
- Having experience in the nuclear industry, but we do not require it.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
- Skills: Knowledge of concrete technology, ASTM/ACI standards, and data analysis.
