Job Title: Nuclear Operations Instructor (NLO)
Job Summary:
The NLO Instructor is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs for Nuclear Licensed Operators. This role ensures that all training aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, supporting safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and evaluations for NLOs.
Conduct classroom, simulator, and on-the-job training sessions.
Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback and coaching.
Ensure compliance with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) and INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) standards.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of training content.
Participate in audits, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain training records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Nuclear Licensed Operator or equivalent.
Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, operations, and safety protocols.
Experience in instructional design and adult learning principles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
NRC Instructor Certification (preferred or required depending on employer).
Work Environment:
Primarily office and classroom settings, with occasional fieldwork or simulator sessions.
May require shift work or extended hours during training cycles or outages.
