Safeguards Training and Development Manager/Specialist

Description: This position requires a highly experienced safeguards professional with proven experience in building training programs and utilizing instructional design methodologies.  This role is critical in preparing the next generation of safeguards experts across Westinghouse Electric Company to ensure regulatory compliance and support for the global nonproliferation regime.  Familiarity with the nonproliferation regime, particularly the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards system, is essential.  This role will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training and other learning initiatives under the Westinghouse Safeguards Professional Development Program.  The ideal candidate is both a visionary and hands-on leader—someone who can align learning strategies with company objectives, while providing mentorship and guidance to trainees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the creation of a company-wide training and development strategy for nuclear material control and accounting (MC&A) professionals.
  • Partner with leadership and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop tailored learning objectives.
  • Develop high-quality instructional materials by employing instructional design models and learning theories.
  • Establish a learning management system to maintain training materials and records.
  • Facilitate learning experiences with relevant stakeholders and meaningful peer-to-peer exchanges.
  • Lead the evaluation of the training program and establish metrics to assess effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required (Master's Degree Preferred)
  • 10 Years Experience in a similar role preferred
