Job Summary:
The Nuclear Training Instructor is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for personnel working in nuclear facilities. This role ensures that all training meets regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures to maintain a highly skilled and safety-conscious workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver classroom, simulator, and on-the-job training for nuclear plant personnel (e.g., operators, technicians, engineers).
Maintain training materials in compliance with INPO, NRC, and site-specific requirements.
Conduct evaluations, exams, and performance assessments to ensure knowledge retention and skill proficiency.
Participate in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
Support continuing training, initial licensing, and requalification programs.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
Provide coaching and mentoring to trainees and junior instructors.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Previous experience in a nuclear facility (e.g., licensed operator, maintenance, engineering).
Strong knowledge of nuclear plant systems, operations, and safety protocols.
Experience with SAT-based training programs.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
NRC Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator license (preferred for operations instructors).
Certifications (Preferred):
INPO Instructor Certification
NRC Instructor Qualification
Adult Learning or Instructional Design Certification
