Opportunity Overview:  Access Authorization Processor – Madison, PA – 6 Month Contract Role

 

The Access Authorization Processor is a position within the Access Authorization segment of the Global Security Organization of Westinghouse.  This segment contributes to the development and application of Access Authorization policies and procedures and works actively in processing backgrounds for individuals seeking unescorted access (UA) to U.S nuclear power plants.  The processor will ensure compliance with the requirements of project procedures, applicable parts of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Energy (DOE).  The processor also maintains the security and confidentiality of all Security Organization operations and information

 

What your day-to-day looks like:  

 

  • Adhere to the established Access Authorization security policies and procedures in addition to any state or federal guidelines.
  • Interface with employees and non-employees, foreign and domestic, to gather personal and confidential information regarding background investigations, psychological evaluation, drug/alcohol test results, and training records used to determine trustworthiness and reliability for access authorization.
  • Create/review files for incoming or existing personnel and prepare appropriate documentation to request unescorted access for individuals working on Westinghouse sites or assignments.
  • Initiate the necessary background investigations, requests, evaluations, updates and inquiries as required utilizing vendors, internal resources, customers, and other companies.
  • Respond/complete employment verifications and process suitable inquiry documents in accordance with regulatory, customer and Westinghouse requirements; and maintains a verification log of inquiries.
  • Review background check information and individual supplied information and other file information to identify inaccuracies and derogatory information. Inform appropriate personnel of anomalies and assist in the resolution and clarification of the discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Review appropriate site criteria and identify the individual’s qualifications to determine the suitability of the individual for access authorization using manual or electronic systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of the regulatory, customer and Westinghouse operating procedures and other guidance; and maintain strict confidentiality and security of all access authorization documentation and files
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor or management 

 

What we need to see from you:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some college work or additional professional training preferred
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary databases related to course of work
  • Valid state driver’s license is required
  • Valid state security licensure where applicable is required
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening is required
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment and regulatory required background investigations to include but not limited to criminal, traffic, fingerprint records check, work references, and education history
  • 1+ years’ experience in security, human resources, administration or related field
