Associate Engineer

Opportunity Overview: 

Mechanical Engineer/Associate Engineer - 12-18 MONTH CONTRACT - FULL TIME 

WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse is looking for new or experienced Engineers with strong mechanical engineering skills/aptitude. This position is a 12–18-month contract with potential to convert to a permanent role & will be based at Waltz Mill in Madison, PA.  If you are looking to begin or grow your career in mechanical engineering, this opportunity is for you!   

What your day-to-day looks like:

• Work with the team of Engineers on a variety of technical/mechanical engineering projects
• Work will include repairs and extensions of reactor internals and head packages (1 month of training is provided)
• Physical manipulation of underwater objects with precision & skill
• Working consistently with Reactor Component Upgrades
• Involved in equipment design, qualifying equipment and qualifying procedures

What we need to see from you:               

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is required
• Strong skills & knowledge in mechanical engineering/mechanical aptitude
• 2-3 years of relevant or similar work experience is preferred/new engineering graduates will also be considered
• Knowledge or familiarity with Reactor Component Upgrades 
• High level of attention to detail
• Open, candid and honest approach in day-to-day work
• Willingness & ability to promptly report issues
• Capable of assuming increased responsibility with training/experience
