Opportunity Overview:  Estimator – 24 Month Contract Position 

WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse has a great opportunity for a Project Estimator for a 24 + month contract assignment. 

The Project Estimator will be a key player in developing proposals to support project work. In this role, the Estimator will collaborate with cross functional teams involved in project development, planning, and execution to develop proposals. Will also be responsible for walk downs at various sites. The Estimator will provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the proposal process.

What your day-to-day looks like:  

• Day to day responsibilities include leading the preparation of estimate and the development of pricing models. 
• Prepares capital cost estimates.
• Review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
• Coordinate and interface on a regular basis with other departments to ensure communication and understanding of proposal/project objectives and the most efficient and productive utilization of resources.
• Review layouts, designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives when appropriate
• Remains current with technology and industry evolution to assure that project capital estimates anticipate the correct market conditions
• Establish, build and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate

What we need to see from you:

• Bachelor's Degree required (civil or mechanical engineering or related field)
• In lieu of degree, equivalent experience is required
• Minimum of 3+ years required in a similar field, 5+ years is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and on a team
