Opportunity Overview: Safety Engineer - 12 month + Contract Role for Fall 2024 Outage

 

WECTEC Staffing Services/Westinghouse is looking for a Safety Engineer to support outage project work over a 12 month timeframe.  

 

What your day-to-day looks like:  

 

  • Lead the industrial safety oversight effort for the project.
  • Lead the development and facilitate the implementation of comprehensive construction safety & health improvement processes (policies, procedures, processes) for the construction oversight organization at the project level.
  • Provide safety & health guidance, direction and coaching to project and construction management and safety professionals.
  • Establish and maintain an organization structure and staffing to provide cost effective safety & health services to the project; manage the personal and professional development of environmental, safety & health professionals.
  • Identify the needs, then lead the development and delivery of appropriate environmental, safety & health education/training programs and other services at the project level.
  • Monitor, evaluate, analyze, track and publicize the project's EHS performance; lead the safety continuous improvement efforts.
  • Leverage industry and company environmental, safety & health knowledge, best practices and lessons learned at the project level. 

 

What we need to see from you:

 

  • High school graduate or the recognized equivalent required / Post high school degree (Bachelors or Associates) /certificate or equivalent in experience is preferred
  • Prior experience in a similar position is required.
  • Prior experience in the nuclear industry is required.
  • Ability to travel & maintain “Unescorted Access” status
