About the role:

The General Laborer plays a critical role in supporting daily operations at a biomass power plant committed to safe, reliable, and efficient power generation. You will help maintain a clean work environment across the power block and fuel yard by removing ash, dust, wood debris, and other materials. Working with the Power Block Lead, Fuel Yard Lead, and control room, the General Laborer contributes to plant operations and upholds high safety and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and removing ash, dust, and debris from equipment, floors, conveyors, and work areas using hand tools, shovels, brooms, vacuum systems, and other cleaning equipment
• Assisting with cleaning and maintaining fuel-handling systems, conveyors, and storage areas to prevent buildup and ensure safe fuel flow
• Performing routine housekeeping and cleanup in the fuel yard and around plant structures
• Supporting operations and maintenance teams during outages, maintenance activities, and equipment wash-downs
• Communicating with the control room and shift leads regarding work progress, hazards, and equipment conditions
• Strictly following all safety procedures, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and confined space requirements
• Completing additional tasks as assigned by the Power Block Lead, Fuel Yard Lead, or plant management

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or GED
• 1+ years experience in an industrial, power plant, or fuel yard environment
• The ability to safely operate hand tools and basic cleaning equipment
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and remaining on your feet for extended periods.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $24-26.50/hr
