Overview:
The Materials Technician at an Energy Center plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and accountability of materials and equipment parts essential to facility operations. This position supports purchasing, inventory control, and materials management functions to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment parts required for energy center operations and maintenance.
- Oversee material disposition and control, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems; monitor stock levels and reorder as needed.
- Track equipment parts history to support preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for material needs and expenditures.
- Generate reports related to inventory, purchasing activity, and material usage for management review.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure timely material support.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all material handling activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the energy center’s reliability and performance goals.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
- Experience in materials management, preferably in an industrial or an energy facility.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory software.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
- Knowledge of energy center operations and equipment is a plus.
