Overview:

The Materials Technician at an Energy Center plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and accountability of materials and equipment parts essential to facility operations. You will support purchasing, inventory control, and materials management responsibilities to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment parts required for energy center operations and maintenance.
  • Oversee material disposition and control, ensuring handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems; monitor stock levels and reorder.
  • Track equipment parts history to support preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts for material needs and expenditures.
  • Create reports related to inventory, purchasing activity, and material usage for management review.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure material support.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all material handling activities

 

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in supply chain, logistics, or related field.
  • Experience in materials management in an industrial or an energy facility.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory software.
  • Knowledge of energy center operations and equipment.
