We are looking for a Project Controls Specialist to support our Wildfire Mitigation Program. The primary focus of this role is on managing and reporting data associated with state and federal grants, including Department of Energy (DOE) grants. This role is critical to ensuring grant compliance, maintaining accurate financial reporting, tracking budgets and expenditures, and to preserve and maximize grant funding opportunities.

You will bring a finance or financial analysis background, and the ability to interpret complex grant requirements, contractual language, and reporting obligations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reporting requirements for state and federal grants, including DOE-funded projects.
  • Prepare accurate financial, budget, expenditure, and compliance reports.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and grant funding use.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to gather project updates and support forecasting activities.
  • Track reporting deadlines and ensure compliant submissions.
  • Create recurring and ad hoc reports and respond to team member data requests.
  • Maintain project controls documentation and support cost tracking and schedule reporting.
  • Collaborate with grant, finance, accounting, and wildfire mitigation teams to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, project controls, reporting, grant management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, analyzing budgets, and tracking project expenditures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis functions.
  • Interpret complex grant requirements, financial documents, contracts, and legal language.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $39.00/hour to $44.00/hour.
