Project Engineer

Opportunity Overview:

We are looking for a Project Engineer for a 1-year contract in Denver, CO to lead the design, modeling, development, and testing of machines, structures, and systems within a plant environment. You will manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness while collaborating with teams and contractors.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Develop functional requirements and apply standard engineering principles to projects.
• Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs.
• Design and test components, then integrate them into final products.
• Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
• Investigate causes of failures and recommend improvements.
• Manage projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Develop project plans, charters, and track budgets to ensure financial accuracy.
• Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with plant teams and external contractors.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
• Other engineering fields considered if relevant to plant operations.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant environment (power plant preferred).
• Project management experience, including budget management and contractor oversight.
• Familiarity with design principles, simulations, and testing processes.
• Proficiency in project planning and financial management.
• FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam passed or interest in taking it.
• Experience with cradle-to-grave project lifecycle.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $35-38/hr.
