Opportunity Overview:

Hybrid role based in Phillips or Rice Lake, WI, with a schedule of in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday; approximately 30% field work and 70% office/design work.
 
This role is responsible for designing, coordinating, and supporting electric distribution projects for new and existing customers. The Electric Distribution Designer / Project Assessor creates and maintains detailed drawings, models, and documentation while ensuring projects meet customer requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory guidelines. This position combines technical design work, field assessments, and customer interaction in a collaborative environment.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Design and manage electric distribution projects using GIS-based systems (GE Smallworld) or manual drafting methods.
  • Create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings, and contract documents.
  • Develop 2D and 3D models to support engineering and construction efforts.
  • Perform field assessments at residential, commercial, and construction sites.
  • Interact with customers to gather requirements and provide project updates.
  • Conduct system design tasks including transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement.
  • Review and interpret customer requirements, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Prepare supporting documentation, including bills of material, schedules, and drawing transmittals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architectural, and technical teams to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Assist with resolving construction and design-related issues.

Who You Are:

  •  High School diploma or equivalent
  •  Basic electrical knowledge or background.
  •  Experience with GIS/AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required.
  •  Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $28.00/hr. to $33.00/hr.
