About the role: Location: Remote position
We are looking for a Pipeline Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. (W-2) There are two types of pipeline engineer is listed below.
Pipeline Compression Engineer
The Pipeline Compression Engineer will serve as the technical lead and owner's engineering representative for the development, design review, construction, commissioning, and operational integration of natural gas pipeline compression facilities.
Pipeline Facilities Engineer
The Pipeline Facilities Engineer will serve as the technical lead for the planning, design, engineering oversight, construction support, and operational integration of natural gas metering and regulating (M&R) facilities associated with interstate and intrastate pipeline systems.
You will report to the onsite manager.
Location: Remote position
1-year contract assignment. (W-2)
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline Compression Engineer
- Pipeline Compression Engineer : The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Solar and GE/Baker Hughes turbine compression systems, Caterpillar reciprocating engine systems, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, electric motor/VFD applications, and pipeline hub compression operations where multiple pipelines are brought to a common transmission pressure.
Pipeline Facilities Engineer
- Pipeline Facilities Engineer: This position will play a key role in the development of a major natural gas pipeline hub designed to interconnect three separate pipeline systems at a common delivery and pressure regulation location. In addition to metering and regulation facilities, the engineer will oversee the design and integration of mainline valve assemblies, pig launcher and receiver facilities, telemetry systems, and SCADA infrastructure supporting safe and reliable pipeline operations.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications for Pipeline Compression Engineer
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in natural gas pipeline compression engineering or major gas transmission infrastructure projects.
Direct experience with:
• Solar gas turbine compression systems
• GE/Baker Hughes compression systems
• Caterpillar reciprocating engine systems
• Centrifugal compressors
• Reciprocating compressors
• Pipeline hub compression operations
• Pack-and-draft compression systems
• Experience overseeing third-party engineering firms and EPC contractors.
Required Qualifications for Pipeline Facilities Engineer
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in natural gas pipeline facilities engineering, metering and regulating station design, or transmission system operations.
Direct experience with:
• Natural gas transmission facilities
• Metering and regulating stations
• Pipeline interconnects
• Mainline valve assemblies
• Pig launcher and receiver systems
• Custody transfer measurement systems
• Pressure regulation systems
• Pipeline SCADA and telemetry systems
• Experience overseeing third-party engineering firms and contractors.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $70.00/hr to $94.00/hr.
