Senior Substation Project Engineer

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a W-2 contract employee. Employees in this role lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. You will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Employees in this role evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects. You will provide direction on projects to the department or project team members.

Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position. You must hold a valid driver's license . We will expect selected candidates to spend a portion of their time attending meetings at other worksites or in the field. You will report to the Project Engineer Manager. You may work remotely and when traveling, you will be able to expense the cost.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and complete large-scale or several medium or small, complex, or long-term project(s) within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status report.
• Identify challenges, measures, and validate results, and implement solutions.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
• Create and communicate presentation materials for report out and updates with different levels of all partners.
• We provide training for external engineers of record (EOR) on all assigned substation projects. We also perform due diligence and technical oversight to ensure compliance with several requirements. These requirements include generation interconnection agreements, scope of work documents, project specifications, and site-specific design requirements. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, such as IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and others.

Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
• 6+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects.
