EHS Project Manager

Opportunity Overview:

 

This position is responsible for project and portfolio management to support an ongoing EHS transformation strategy and roadmap for Global Operation Services (GOS) to support the future growth of the company. This position will be simultaneously responsible for achieving EHS project/portfolio milestones and developing/executing EHS Transformation objectives. 

 

What your day-to-day looks like:

 

  • Providing support and oversight to EHS project work identified on GOS EHS project portfolios.
  • Prioritizing projects and resources to accomplish multi-faceted and time-sensitive goals.
  • Leveraging resources – site level, corporate, and external – to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance while reducing risk in environmental, health & safety areas.
  • Communicating to senior leadership the successes, challenges, and progress of critical EHS project work.
  • Collaborating with peer organizations to ensure adequate resources are obtained and applied.
  • Executing EHS Transformation Roadmap to support projected company growth, considering organizational structure, resources, training/competency, and metrics.                
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity through standardization, automation and leveraging resources.
  • Identifying EHS resource expectations for different site sizes & manufacturing processes within GOS. Helping sites perform a gap analysis with their current state and develop a path forward.
  • Determining plan to develop an EHS talent pipeline to successfully recruit, retain, and develop EHS talent.
  • Facilitating the creation of an EHS competency matrix for different non-EHS roles within GOS.
  • Understanding the complex EHS and regulatory requirements at the GOS sites.
  • Collaborating with employees at all levels, disciplines, organizations, and sites within GOS.
  • Listening to stakeholders within GOS to ensure their voice is heard.
  • Communicating effectively and transparently to keep stakeholders up to date.
  • Driving a culture change to create a “one team” EHS organization.
  • Taking into account many competing priorities and opinions, and turning EHS into a competitive advantage, not only focusing on compliance but also operational excellence and positive business results.

What we’d like to see from you:   

 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and accomplishment in a highly regulated industry.
  • Manufacturing experience and leadership in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proven EHS regulatory experience and expertise in dealing with regulating agencies.
  • Progressively higher levels of leadership experience over the course of your career.
  • Critical and strategic thinking with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Experience in driving Operating Management Systems (OMS).
  • Multi-site experience, applying tailored approaches to unique challenges.
  • Business acumen, short-term and long-term business understanding.
  • 15+ years’ experience with increasing EHS and leadership responsibility.
  • Minimum educational requirement - B.S. in Engineering, Safety, or related field.
  • Certifications are a plus (e.g. Certified Safety Professional).
