Opportunity Overview: Senior Supplier Performance Engineer – 18 MONTH CONTRACT - Joplin,  MIssouri

WECTEC Staffing/Westinghouse is looking for a Senior Supplier Performance Engineer for a 18 month+ project in Joplin, MO. Work will be done at a supplier site in Joplin. Position has the potential to convert to a permanent position.  Must be a US Citizen. 

 

What your day-to-day looks like:  

This position is for a resident Senior Supplier Performance Engineer at a major fabricator located in Joplin, MO.  This position will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication of a major order of large heat exchangers.

 

Supplier Oversight

  • Perform on-site supplier oversight of a major ASME Section VIII heat exchanger fabricator to ensure Westinghouse technical, quality, and schedule requirements are achieved
  • Execute Supplier Oversight Plans to drive on-time completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and functional tests.  Ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements.
  • Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
  • Actively identify and escalate significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events. 
  • Drive prompt resolution of issues by coordinating activities, issuing timely communications, and identifying stakeholders to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition of issues, and implementation of corrective action
  • Monitor key supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices, etc.) to proactively identify negative performance trends and implement causal analysis, corrective actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans to mitigate issues.
  • Own and drive internal and external (supplier) corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions.

 

What we need to see from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required (preference for Mechanical, Welding, or Manufacturing disciplines
  • + years (minimum) of in-shop experience in engineering, manufacturing, and /or, fabrication
  • Experience preferred in the Power Generation or Nuclear Industries but could be in any of the following industries: Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production Platforms, Ship Building, Manufacturing Plants
  • Experience with fabrication and/or design of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and heat exchangers
  •       Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes including precision machining (turning, milling, etc.), welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing 
  •       Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans
  •       Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Power Point
  •       Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standardsAbility to stand and comfortably move around shop floors for extended periods to observe manufacturing operations
