Opportunity Overview: Mechanical Lead Supervisor – 6+ month contract – Surry, VA
The Mechanical Supervisor oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within nuclear facilities. Additionally, this supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems to support safe and continuous operations.
What your day-to-day looks like:
- Overseeing Mechanical Installation: As a Mechanical Lead supervisor, you will manage and coordinate daily installation tasks related to machinery and systems within buildings or establishments.
- Strategic Planning and Scheduling: Meticulously plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize system downtime and optimize performance.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards and environmental requirements is a key aspect of this role in supervising mechanical operations.
- Guidance and Support: Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring effective execution of tasks.
- Root Cause Analysis and Preventive Measures: When equipment failures occur, participate in root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to prevent recurrence.
What we need to see from you:
- High School Diploma
- 5-10 Years of experience in a similar role
- Experience in Supervising new installation and maintenance in nuclear power
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment commonly used in nuclear facilities, such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers and turbines.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of installation/maintenance techniques and best practices, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Leadership and supervisory skills to effectively manage a team of maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Problem-solving abilities to diagnose mechanical issues and develop effective solutions.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $55.00/hour to $65.00/hour.
