Aluminum Bronze Piping Engineer
Contract: Start 12-1-2025 for 3 to 4 months
Location: South Texas Project Nuclear site Wadsworth, Texas
You will report hybrid/remote.
You will report to the Engineering Manager.
Your Day-to-Day:
The purpose of this scope of work is to obtain an individual experienced and qualified to perform structural evaluations in support of Al-Bronze aging managementprogram. The program consists of performing Non-destructive examinations (NDE) on approximately 500 cast aluminum bronze piping components and replacing the components as needed. Any component found with an indication could require structural evaluations based on examination results.
The components that require the structural evaluations are associated with the Essential Cooling Water (ECW) system. Specifically, flanges, valves, tees, elbows, welds, piping components.
Structural evaluations may include the following:
• T-min calculations
• Pre-engineering for postulated flaws
• Justifying areas that are not able have NDE coverage
• Realtime evaluations of dealloying or wall thinning during the week of inspections
• CREE to justify the evaluations
• Final report to justify all the inspected cast components. Structural evaluations must be in accordance with recommendations prescribed in a report provided by client referred to as the "Kinectrics Report. The structural evaluations may also be performed using approved ASME code or NRC endorsed methodologies.
Who You Are:
5- 10 years of relevant experience in aluminum & bronze
ASME Certified Mechanical Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
You must be complete all training on site and meet our customer's qualifications.
You will successfully pass the nuclear background and fitness for duty.
