Opportunity Overview

 

I&C Engineer – 12-18 Month Contract / Potential Contract to hire

 

WECTEC Staffing / Westinghouse has an exciting opportunity for an I&C Engineer with solid electrical skills/aptitude. This is a 12-18-month contract role with the opportunity to convert to a permanent position. Position will be a hybrid role, based out of Warrendale, PA.  What your day-to-day looks like:

 

  • Support development of hardware design specifications for process instrumentation (sensors, detectors, transmitters) used in nuclear I&C systems.
    • Pressure Transmitters, RTDs, Radiation Monitors, Hydrogen Analyzers, Flow Meters, Pump Speed Sensors, Orifice Plates
  • Support development of procurement specifications and work with suppliers to identify suitable instruments.
  • Follow supplier manufacturing, test, and delivery of instruments and support resolution of technical issues.
  • Review supplier drawings and documents to verify conformance to hardware design and procurement specifications.
  • Maintain product lifecycle documents and support resolution of obsolescence issues.
  • Support technical issues for instrumentation installed at existing operating plants.
  • Provide installation and start-up support for instrumentation installed at new plants.
  • Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international).

 

What we need to see from you:   

            

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is required
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
