Job Description
Job Details/Essential Job Functions:
- Complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of packages that include preparation of specifications and data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings.
- Prepare purchase requisitions.
- Review vendor drawings.
- Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements.
- Support construction, implementation and start up activities.
- Review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data.
- Coordinate the efforts of the group with other discipline groups on the same project.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science from a 4-year university with course work in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and/or heat transfer
- 4 years of experience relating to design of fluid thermal systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
- 2 years of experience relating to the design or operation of commercial Nuclear Power Plants
- Experience evaluating and/or specifying pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and turbines.
- Working knowledge of ASME and ANSI codes/standards.
- Preparation of specifications, calculations, and drawings for plant systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills. Must have experience working in a Team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with the Nuclear Standard Design Process, and experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to vendor drawings, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc. for plant modification packages.
- Field experience at an operating nuclear plant
- Experience with AOV and/or MOV calculations is a plus
