Engineering Technician

General Functions: You will  perform a variety of technical and engineering assignments for design, drafting, and implementation of mechanical and instrumentation projects (Capital, Expense, Development) under the guidance of a qualified engineer.  Support and perform field and onsite deployment, maintenance, setup and operation of integrated systems.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage drafting, design, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance request workload and coordinate requests with supervision to ensure timely completion and level loading.  
  • Coordinate with supervision for daily priorities
  • Manufacture, test and peer check larger and/or fully integrated systems to engineering procedures, CAD drawings and Schematics.
  • Perform, support, and coach both peers and field/manufacturing technicians with technical and manufacturing support
  • Use CAD software (Preferred AutoCAD) to support new/current projects, sales and revisions
  • Support and assist in rebuilds of outage support systems
  • Perform onsite deployment, maintenance, setup and operation of integrated systems
  • Travel for 30 to 50 percent of year to support outage and emergent work scope
  • Help prepare requirements and specification documents for purchasing and fabricating equipment and systems under the guidance of engineering or project manager.  
  • Generate requests for quotes and purchase requests to purchase materials and equipment.  
  • Help identify, Set-up and acquire spare parts for projects.

 

Who You Are:

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understands all parts of larger and/or fully integrated systems
  • Can use measurement equipment such as Digital Multimeters, calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to be self-sufficient with assigned worked tasks and minimal supervision
  • Has a willingness to give ‘Whatever it takes’ to get the job done right the first time and integrity to complete it following safe and ethical practices.
  • Engineering technology associate degree and 2+ year’s experience in relevant field
  • CAD and/or 3D modeling certifications a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidEdge
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skill levels
  • Machining and/or fabrication a plus
