Project Manager

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our project team as a Project Manager. The role will be varied and wide ranging with the successful candidate managing a diverse portfolio of projects in a number of operational production plant, laboratory, and site infrastructure support areas.
The role will require the management and co-ordination of a diverse set of stakeholders including representatives from Commercial, Finance, Operations, Safety and Quality internal departments in addition to stakeholders in the wider Westinghouse company such as the US and Japan
As the Project Manager you will have overall responsibility for project delivery and will report directly to the Senior PM.
An extensive knowledge of project management will be required including estimating/cost control, planning, risk management, communications, stakeholder management as well as overall project management planning. The ability to develop appropriate project governance frameworks tailored to meet the specific requirements of a project will be required.
Projects managed will typically be cradle to grave. An understanding of engineering principals with a history of working in an engineering environment is a requirement as most projects will be based on engineering requirements.
The role requires good communication and interpersonal abilities. A challenging attitude is necessary and an ability to manage multiple projects in fluid teams.
Role will predominantly be carried out at the Springfields Fuels Limited site at Preston with some home flexible working where possible and some site visits to suppliers in the UK when required including on occasions overnight stays
Your Day to Day:
- Preparation of project documentation such as stage gates, business cases, schedules, estimates, risk registers, communication plans, project management plans, governance frameworks, etc
- Management of the project team including designers, project engineers, planners, estimators as well other functional department personnel drafted in to assist in delivering project requirements
- Stakeholder management/communication of the overall project team including sponsors, regulators, senior management as well as the core project team members
- Presentation of stage gate and business case detail to key stakeholders as part of the project sanctioning process
- Have overall oversight and management of the design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and qualification of project activities
- Management and resolution of strategic and technically complex issues
- Accountable for the safe design installation, testing, commissioning of project deliverables compliant with CDM (Construction, Design & Management) Regulations
- Responsible for the management of the supply chain including final testing and sign off prior to equipment delivery to site
What you need to be successful in this role:
- BEng(Hons) degree in a relevant Mechanical or C,E&I subject OR
- Significant experience in an engineering field with other supporting qualifications will be considered OR
- BSc(Hons) degree in Project Management
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Project Management Experience
- Project Management related qualifications or certifications (APM, PRINCE 2, PMI)
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
