Senior Manager, Projects - Piping and Welding

About the role:

As a Sr. Manager of Projects, you will oversee projects in the piping and welding areas. You will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for complex mechanical projects, serving as the primary authority on piping construction, welding execution, and code compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

You will report to the Director of MMC Operations. This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of major mechanical construction projects, with specific responsibility for piping system installation, fabrication, and welding activities.
• Manage all phases of piping construction including design coordination, material procurement, fabrication, field installation, hydrostatic testing, and system turnover.
• Ensure welding activities comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASME B31.1, B31.3, Section IX, AWS, and project-specific quality requirements.
• Review and approve welding procedures (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQRs), and welder qualification records to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Resolve complex mechanical, piping, and welding-related field issues while minimizing impacts to project schedule and budget.
• Interface with engineering, quality assurance, and construction teams to ensure constructability and successful execution of piping systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of project management experience in industrial, power generation, or nuclear construction environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale piping fabrication and installation projects involving carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy materials, and specialty piping systems.
• Experience coordinating mechanical construction activities in accordance with ASME, AWS, API, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and project performance.
• Strong working knowledge of welding processes including GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW, as well as nondestructive examination (NDE) requirements.
• Proven ability to manage welding quality programs, turnover packages, code compliance documentation, and jurisdictional inspections.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $144,000.00 to $180,000.00.
