About the role:

As a Site Superintendent you will manage the activity of all craft workers, to ensure that work is done safely, correctly.

 

You will report to the Site Manager

Contract position-onsite in Berwick, PA

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conscientious implementation and observed work force compliance with the Westinghouse Safety Program. Communicate safety expectations to your team along with the coaching and counseling needed to produce suitable results. Accept accountability for the results obtained.
  • Review all Site Corrective Action Program Condition Reports originated by team members for level 2 and level 3 injuries, illnesses, or near misses. The safety program generates these reports during implementation. The Westinghouse Site Manager submits final initiations or dispositions for input after you review them.
  • Manage all site field activities
  • Support the Site Manager in presenting Radiation Worker Acknowledgement Forms. Signs the forms acknowledging presentation.
  • Clearance verification requirements as a supervisor following the Site Protection and Caution Tagging Procedure. Potentially during non-outage periods.
  • Follow all Client Procedures
  • Oversee all craft labor and craft guidance
  • Assure that only qualified and trained individuals are assigned to tasks.
  • Assure necessary resources to meet assigned project requirements.
  • Address employee concerns.
  • Communicate daily with the Site Representatives related to Westinghouse field operation's tasks and activities.
  • Spend considerable amounts of time in the field observing work activities
  • Work with the ALARA Coordinator to assure Rad and High Rad briefs are supported and attended.
  • Assure that the work meets the requirements of the work packages, work orders, and good work practice standards.
  • Work with station Planning, Scheduling and Work Control organizations
  • Identify barriers to success and pursuing permanent changes to increase productivity.
  • Help develop and implement solutions to productivity issues
  • Assure that all costs are collected against the proper accounts.
  • Participate in coordination, scheduling, quality, safety, and progress review meetings
  • Participate in Work Observation Programs on site
  • Ensuring supervisory administrative burdens are kept as low as reasonably achievable.
  • Perform walk downs, constructability reviews, and estimates.
  • Identify best practices and repetitive tasks and implementing improvements.
  • Provide a listing of persons trained (per the Site training standards) as confined space supervisors to, and Site safety professionals.
  • Authorize the designated General Forman to perform Hold (SH), Witness (SW) and Verification (SV) for critical attribute steps in the work packages when directed by the Superintendent / Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma
  • 3-5 years in nuclear industry
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory position
