Product Assurance Manager

Location: Blairsville, PA


Manage development and implementation of the site’s quality assurance program. Ensure program complies with regulatory standards, regulations and customer quality assurance requirements.  Lead implementation of the quality programs within the product line.  Assure overall compliance and alignment with Westinghouse quality and continuous improvement programs.  Lead the site’s customer support and interface efforts.


Your Day to Day

  • Manage development and implementation of Business Unit quality policies in compliance with customer requirements, codes and standards.
  • Recommend, resolve, implement and communicate solutions to quality problems throughout the site.  Manage through priority quality situations, collaborating with and responding to key stakeholders with urgency and accountability.
  • Interface with industry organizations and influence appropriate industry quality changes.
  • Implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement.  
  • Develop department budget and control expenditures to remain within budget.  
  • Ensure staff are appropriately trained and manage employee performance to achieve department goals and objectives.  Provide oversight for the Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) program in accordance with industry standards.
  • Define and ensure implementation of action plans for continuous improvement and provide oversight of action plan execution.
  • Drive compliance with QMS, ASME and Level 2 Procedures.  Implement Level 3 Procedures as needed.  Coordinate Management Assessment Reviews, Internal and External audits, and self-assessments.
  • Oversee and drive utilization and compliance of Corrective Action Programs, including oversight of Issue Review Committee, Screener and CARB functions.
  • Lead facilitation and ensure alignment with product line and center-led quality function.  Ensure implementation of appropriate product line quality metrics in compliance with quality programs and requirements.


Required to be successful in the role:

  • BS technical degree or equivalent plus 10 or more years of progressively more responsible quality assurance experience required.  
  • 5-10 years of quality assurance management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.  Nuclear quality experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of quality assurance operations, codes and standards. 
  • Proficient in various problem solving and causal analysis techniques.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Highly effective in written and oral communication.
