The Electrical Design/Safety EIT (Engineer In Training) will assist multidisciplinary engineering team in support of electrical and control system for tooling and robotics type projects. Preparation of drawings, reports, designs, calculations, costs and bill of material in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings or other specifications. Perform the job and task assigned.


Your Day to Day:

  • Design and optimization of systems incorporating electrical and mechanical components
  • Design and optimization of control panels, and/or circuit board designs for various projects.
  • Identify suppliers of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems components specified
  • Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings and bills of materials in compliance to WEC Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Develop project documentation in accordance with the Westinghouse QAM
  • Develop component specifications and purchasing requests in compliance with the WEC QAM
  • Support the assembly of developed systems
  • Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
  • Assist with the development of test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Assist with the operation of the final tooling system in the customer facilities
  • Prepares reports, designs, calculations, analyses etc. in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, or other specifications
  • Conducts tests, gathers and analyzes information, helps interpret findings. May require application of computer skills and knowledge of relevant software applications.
  • Requires familiarity with technical terms or procedures basic to the function in order to communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Attend client’s site to conduct site inspections.
  • Works under direction where the work is reviewed for accuracy, adequacy and conformance with prescribed procedures.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics), or Applied Science or its equivalent 
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience
  • Registered EIT with PEO
  • Proficient in Autocad Electrical, EAGLE or equivalent tools
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
    • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge
    • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
    • Self-motivated and highly organized
