Project Summary:

Accident tolerant fuel development and implementation of chrome coated cladding.

Student Role/Expectations:

The Co-op would be working with autoclave testing engineers at the Westinghouse Churchill facility. The main purpose or role of the position is sample preparation, autoclave testing, and analysis the data from the tests. In addition to real time testing/data analysis, work with technicians on the metallograph and SEM analyzing the microstructure of the coating(s) and substrate will be a major portion of the work. The analysis performed shall documented via an internal report at the end of each semester/term/rotation. The work will be directly related to the development of Westinghouse’s Cr coated cladding.

Churchill, PA (minimum of 4 days on site at Churchill facility)

1 day of remote work
