We have an opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Regulatory Affairs to join our Global Quality & Regulatory Affairs division!  The Principal Specialist, Regulatory Affairs will perform licensing support and analysis and/or provide regulatory leadership globally including support of the Westinghouse 10CFR21 program and Westinghouse licensed facilities and will be expected to act as expert knowledge resource of specific regulation, technology, or engineering position.  Engage with nuclear regulators as needed. This is a US ONLY Remote or Mobile role.


Your Day to Day:

  1. Prepare 10CFR21 Evaluations, licensing reports, licensing amendment requests, and other licensing documents like decommissioning funding plans and license renewals. 
  2. Assemble and direct engineering teams in responding to problems related to safety and licensing.
  3. Execute Westinghouse’s regulatory strategy and advance Westinghouse’s priorities through direct and routine interactions with the nuclear regulators.
  4. Provide licensing and regulatory expertise to internal Westinghouse organizations to improve performance and regulatory margin.
  5. Support internal Westinghouse organizations, such as US nuclear licensed facilities, with licensing needs.
  6. Work across Westinghouse’s organization to coordinate activities among Westinghouse licensed facilities and licensing groups. 
  7. Develop procedures, processes and/or methods for implementing regulatory requirements and for how Westinghouse will conduct licensing activities.
  8. Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related regulatory positions.
  9. Interface with customers, regulators, and industry entities (e.g. NRC, NEI, PWROG) and participate in industry activities to ensure Westinghouse interests prevail and to maintain expertise on all current licensing related issues.


Who You Are:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related technical discipline or equivalent.
  2. Typically 6+  years of experience.
  3. Demonstrates understanding of Regulatory/Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations, methods and processes.
