This person will report to the AP300 Project Engineering Manager and will work together with the AP300 functional area leads and be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Component & Equipment for the AP300 project.  

 

This is a unique position that will be responsible for interacting with Functional Area Stakeholders to solve technical challenges and guide work towards achievement of project goals and objectives.  The target applicant is high-performing, self-starting, solution-oriented and looking to continue leadership skill development.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Accountable/Responsible for product development technical leadership, guidance, major project technical decisions, etc. for AP300 Component & Equipment
  • Manages major design changes as needed and ensures alignment with design authority and program stakeholders
  • Provides overall Component & Equipment design technical leadership to ensure the project is executed within the major product development objectives and milestones
  • AP300 Component & Equipment design point of contact across Westinghouse engineering organizations
  • Supports Project Engineering Manager for technical related needs throughout the project
  • Represents Component & Equipment design development in the Product Development Review Meeting (PDRM) and the overall program AP300 Project Review Meeting (PRM)
  • Responsible for Component & Equipment risk/opportunity identification, and support development of associated recovery/exploitation plans – including involvement in issue resolution
  • Support development and maintaining of an accurate logic driven program schedule

 

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a miminum of 5 years expereince and 10-15 years being typical but not required.
  • Previous experience on AP1000 or AP300 preferred but not required for consideration
  • Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to +/- 10% for peak times)
  • Cognizance in at least one of the following technical areas:
    • NSSS component design
    • Auxiliary Equipment
    • Valves
  • Effective oral and written communications
  • Ability to establish effective networks across various functional areas
