We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate, Corporate Development on our Global Corporate Development and Strategy Team.  Westinghouse Electric Company’s Corporate Development group is responsible for directing short and long-term corporate development growth through ongoing strategic evaluations in order to positively impact the company’s future. As such, this group leads the evaluation and execution of domestic and international acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnership agreements and strategic investments. The group works closely with senior management to source and assess new business opportunities in line with the company’s corporate strategy.  The Analyst will be responsible for developing and preparing strategic initiatives with supporting financial analyses to support corporate opportunities. On a typical transaction, the Analyst will be closely involved in conducting due diligence (with cross-functional teams involving product lines, regions, and corporate departments), determining appropriate valuation and deal structure; assisting in the development of negotiating strategy; driving activities to closure; and, coordinating with integration team members.  This is a US ONLY Remote Role.  Expected travel requirements are no greater than 25% - most likely to Cranberry Township, PA headquarters location.


Your Day to Day:

  • Evaluating potential strategic initiatives - preparing written business cases to frame the rationale and value proposition.
  • Developing detailed financial models and valuation scenarios for potential transactions.
  • Performing various financial analysis scenarios, such as build-vs-buy, break-even position, etc.
  • Coordinating with business leaders to execute transactions.
  • Implementing due diligence for potential transactions.
  • Assisting in transaction negotiations and legal documentation.
  • Creating investment conclusions and related presentations for review by senior executives and the board of directors.
  • Performing industry research to highlight opportunities within the company's existing lines of business or identifying promising new verticals.
  • Identifying general competitor information.
  • Analyzing competitor positions in the market.
  • Identifying competitor strategies and evaluate strengths/weaknesses.
  • Developing and maintaining a broad knowledge of market and customer performance indicators.


Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field including technical. MBA preferred.

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience; MBA may be substituted for some experience.

• Substantial working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and demonstrated experience in business valuation, financial modeling, analysis, research and presentation creation.

• Prior M&A investment banking experience is a plus.

• Solid interpersonal skills (externally and internally at all levels).

• Business writing skills; ability to create well-organized, well thought-out business cases, diligence reports, research papers, etc.

• Excellent project management and planning skills.

• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, and experience communicating with senior managers.

• Proven track record of defining and executing key analyses with minimal supervision.
