About the role:

As a Customer Solutions Manager of Security & Risk Informed Engineering Solutions (SRIES), you will lead client engagement and tailor solutions to meet customer needs. You will be responsible for meeting with operating plant customers and understanding their specific requirements. Using this knowledge, you will lead a team to propose a unique offering. You will oversee the technical content, costing, pricing, responsiveness, and quality of each bid.

 

We use knowledge of probabilistic risk assessment, physical security, and fire protection to support customer consultative selling, interactions, and negotiations. You will collaborate with Westinghouse Global Markets, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management to close on opportunities. You will also collaborate with Global Product Management to set product strategy, providing voice of customers and suggestions for product and service improvements to enhance value propositions. Finally, you will also be responsible for business financial goals including orders entered, opportunity pipeline growth, and margin as sold.

 

You will report to the Director of Operational Intelligence and Risk Management. This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer relationships to facilitate understanding of customer needs and create proposals with a value proposition to meet customer needs and secure Orders Entered (OE). Accountable for OE and opportunity pipeline growth for product/technology areas.
  • Assess near-term market trends, customer buying patterns and competitor moves to adjust product positioning.
  • Recommend price to capture maximum market value while delivering on business plan assumptions such as margin as sold; collaborate with sales to align on final price to customer. Collaborate with sales on capture planning and final order negotiations.
  • Support Project Portfolio Manager activities to aggregate product financials and (at least) monthly financial forecasting. Support Project Portfolio Manager activities to develop resource demand signal for Engineering and Supply Chain.
  • Engage on emergent customer issues, leading the team until project management is available and engaged, working with a collective team to develop technical and commercial solutions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand the status of projects, supporting resolution of challenges during project execution.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Engineering resource managers, to ensure people, processes and technology are available to deliver offer commitments and promote market growth. Collaborate with Engineering resource managers to produce high quality proposals.
  • Ensure good understanding of Intellectual Property aspects of offers and ongoing projects; facilitate needed discussions to develop position on IP. Jointly own approval for release of IP to external stakeholders (e.g., customers, 3rd parties) with Engineering.
  • Collaborate and co-ordinate with peer leaders in the other Product Segments to ensure cohesive approach to market and holistic customer support and satisfaction; collaborate to develop cohesive, joint proposals
  • Collaborate with Global Product Management on product strategy, product roadmaps, technology roadmaps, and innovation ideas.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in product management, product engineering, product resource management, business or operation with increasing progression and complexity and levels
  • A consultative and/or product management background with experience in either physical security, probabilistic risk assessment or fire protection to market in a Business-to-Business environment
  • Background in leveraging customer feedback, commercial constraints, and business unit feedback/product management engagement to solve pain points and generate value based on return on investment
  • Familiarity with the nuclear and energy environments

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400.00 to $163,000.00 per year. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
