The Director of Technology to Market and PMO Innovation will be responsible for the oversight and governance of the full D&I project portfolio, the budget, external funding and the liaisions with Operating Plant Services (OPS) and Nuclear Fuels business units. In addition to PMO responsibilities, this role will serve as the primary partner for key stakeholders within the OPS and Fuels business units to accelerate products and services to market. This role will establish processes, methodologies and tools required to accelerate innovation development at Westinghouse in alignment with Business Unit strategic objectives as effective budgets allocations and producing business cases and new business models.

This role will need to establish strong, collaborative relationships with the Business Units while championing a culture of innovation.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • PMO/Process and Methods
    • Provide governance and oversight of the D&I portfolio of initiatives that drives value for Westinghouse as demonstrated through KPIs.
    • Lead, follows and manage D&I and R&D and Innovation budget internal allocations and external funding on a global scale.
    • Lead the delivery of Monthly Operations Review (MOR), Quarterly Business Review (QBR), Board Materials presentations, models and data for senior leadership to effectively convey the state of the D&I portfolio and achievement towards critical objectives.
    • Support the strategic planning process.
    • Defines, maintains and implements project management methodology for Digital and Innovation, including governance, tracking and monitoring, communication, prioritization and quality control.
    • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of PMO processes by implementing and governing the tools and methodologies used to drive D&I initiatives.
    • Actively manage the portfolio/projects, capturing development activities, managing risks, and driving key decisions with executive leadership, including the decision to stop a project if necessary.
  • Engagement Liaison/Technology to Market
    • Driving in alignment with BU technology scaling and maturation making the link with the business unit bottom line.
    • Increasing market-responsive product offerings by implementing new stage-gate process and in aligned with Strategy and Technology Roadmap Program.
    • Ensure technology development teams in D&I and BU understand the goals and the objectives of the business plan and have the right resources to accomplish them.
    • Forge strong partnerships with internal stakeholders from across Business Units, focusing primarily on the Operating Plant Services (OPS) and Fuels Business Units, respectively.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of the business unit and its strategic objectives and priorities to align technology solutions and initiatives with the goals of the organization. Work with innovators to deliver their project’s ensuring work has secured appropriate governance approvals, buy-in from senior teams and has sufficient resource and capacity to deliver effectively.
    • Partner with Business Unit Leaders to successfully scale-up and commercialize products, ensuring key design criteria are met. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across different product teams and functional areas.

 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical curriculum; Master’s of Science in a relevant discipline and/or MBA preferred or hands-on experience
  • 15+ years experience, with 10+ years of progressive leadership and management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale initiatives and complex projects to completion
  • Ability to lead a team of people managers to successfully execute strategy
  • Ability to distill customer needs and direct the right technology approaches
  • Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to convey complex information to different stakeholders effectively.
