About the role:

As a Program Manager, APX Environment, Health and Safety is an individual contributor role that requires leadership aptitude to work across organizations and varied functional disciplines in a matrixed organization.

 

You will report to the Director of APX Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and is part of the APX central QEHS group, the business partner to an organization responsible for global engineering, procurement, manufacturing and new nuclear plant build and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. The position is hybrid; you will be on site 2 days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The APX QEHS organization works in collaboration with Westinghouse corporate QEHS, to set Quality, Environment, Health and Safety standards, provide governance and oversight, culture development, performance improvement and resource enablement programs that institutionalize excellence, health and safety performance (nuclear, industrial, environmental).

 

As the Program Manager, APX EHS, you will be responsible for development and sponsorship of EHS programs, conducting training, investigations and case management, audits and metrics/compliance oversight. This is a hand-on role that requires travel to nuclear plant build and manufacturing sites and presence in our engineering centers of excellence.

 

  • Provide technical assistance and support for EHS issues within assigned areas.
  • Develop and implement written documentation on EHS requirements and reporting for projects.
  • Monitor regulatory and internal EHS programs to understand changes and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training to project participants or segment organizations
  • Track the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, training and risk assessments for projects.
  • Manage the EHS risk register for APX sites/projects.
  • Assist projects with internal and external EHS reporting.
  • Ensure environmental protection, permitting, performance monitoring is implemented.
  • Develop data management and analytic practices using tools such as PowerBI, Qualitech (CAP), EHS software and AI to lead a continuous improvement culture.
  • Conduct / facilitate EHS inspections and audits, partner with sites to implement corrections, controls and implementation.
  • Participate in EHS compliance and EHS management system audits.
  • Work and collaborate with corporate EHS organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in a technical discipline such as engineering, human factors, industrial hygiene, radiation protection
  • Minimum 7 years of EHS experience, including progressive experience in industrial, construction or radiological environments
  • Willing to travel 25-50%

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
