- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) for the repair, modification, and qualification of safety‑related components in primary reactor coolant systems, supporting operating plants and AP1000 designs.
- Execute design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions using lessons learned and best practices.
- Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closed‑form analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering.
- Improve analysis quality and efficiency by implementing advanced methods, automation, and innovative tools.
- Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure effective subsystem integration and resolve complex design and production issues.
- Demonstrate strong technical ownership and accountability, delivering high‑quality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering, etc. will be considered with relevant experience).
- Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and at least a familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
- PE License (Preferred).
