Enterprise Information Architect

The Enterprise Architecture Team is responsible for developing technology standards, optimizing the benefit of existing technologies, act as a consultant within IT and the as well to the organization, and develop and maintain technology roadmaps that align to business strategies and priorities.  An ExA architect is responsible for determining the company technology strategy and architectures within their domain (ex Enterprise Technology Architect (ETA) may focus on servers and storage, while an Enterprise Security Architect (ESA) leads the design of technical strategies within the CyberSecurity space, etc).

 

An Enterprise information Architect (EIA) strengthens the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across the organization.  This is accomplished through the identification, definition and analysis of how information assets aid strategies and business outcomes.  This role is responsible for designing corporate data architecture, as well as exploring new technologies and applying them to the technical roadmap.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Architect and build security-compliant big-data scale platforms in a hybrid cloud/on-premises infrastructure.
  • Design and innovate data integration methodologies (ETL/ELT tools, DataBricks, Apache Spark, etc) between structured data systems (eg database), unstructured data storage (eg data lakes), and microservices (eg API's & Data Streaming).
  • Advise Business/IT leadership and functional teams on data architectures, technology stack selections, and migration paths for legacy data architecture.
  • Create standards and reference architectures for databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.  Create reusable design patterns for data storage, streaming, and transformation.  Collaborate with data engineering and database administration teams to design best practices. 
  • Develop and sustain data architecture roadmaps.  Understand business goals and how they translate into processes involving data.
  • Lead discussions with business resources regarding data governance strategies and data life cycle strategies.
  • Drive decisions on data taxonomy, hierarchies, and modeling principles.
  • Ensure information risks are appropriately managed for different classifications of data, both in movement and at rest.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends with an eye toward practical application.

 

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other technical degree desired.  Equivalent experience acceptable.
  • 7+ years data architecture and/or data warehousing experience with big data applications and cloud data warehousing, including:
  • Experience with structured and unstructured data storage, retrieval, and integration.
  • Experience with data in distributed systems and microservices.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle Server, SAP HANA, and SAP BW.
  • Experience designing and building solutions in the cloud (Azure Preferred)
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred)
