As an Intern on our Ethics and Compliance team you will provide support to various risk areas of the Global Compliance program and projects. You will be working closely with different members of the E&C team such that you should have developed a good understanding of the inner workings of an effective corporate compliance program, in theory and in practice. You may have opportunities to get involved in other areas of the Westinghouse Legal Department e.g., corporate law, labor & employment, intellectual property, privacy, or commercial law, etc. We have a dynamic team, collaborative and inclusive culture that will enable our interns to explore different areas of compliance and get a good feel for what it is like to work in a corporate environment.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Compliance risk assessment
  • Compliance training initiatives
  • Global Compliance Ambassador Program
  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Program
  • High risk Third party (Intermediary) Program
  • Conflicts of Interest
  • Internal investigations assistance on data analytics

 

In addition, intern will be asked to provide research (including legal research), prepare informational presentations based on their research and benchmarking data for various processes.

 

Who You Are:

• Pursuing a JD in an accredited law school, MBA, MPIA, or a related degree in business, economics, accounting, forensic studies.

• High level of accountability and integrity

• Detail-oriented

• Motivated self-learner with the passion and follow through to acquire new skills

• Ability to think creatively, take ownership of tasks and adapt to changing business requirements

• Work well in a global virtual environment that is fast-paced and constantly changing

• Ability to multitask and navigate through ambiguity

• Strong interpersonal skills, incl. good communication with the ability to articulate ideas in a precise and concise manner

 

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft Office applications

• SAP or other ERP systems experience

• Effective presentation skills

• Ability working with cross functional teams

• Proficiency in a language other than English
