The Sr. Project Director will oversee the successful execution of Westinghouse’s scope for the Czech/Dukovany project. This role involves managing all aspects of the Westinghouse project scope, including engineering, procurement, change management, customer interface and onsite construction/commissioning support of the KHNP APR1000 nuclear power units. The Sr. Director will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States.

Duties and responsibilities in the order of priority:
Lead the Westinghouse Czech/Dukovany project team, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives in accordance with the established agreements.
Ensure compliance with all Czech/Dukovany project, contractual, regulatory and safety requirements.
Primary interface with key stakeholders including executive management and serving as the single point of contact with project owner (CEZ). Prime contractor Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd and it affiliates (collectively “TK”), the Czech Regulatory body, and other subcontractors.
Lead the Westinghouse execution team resources from key functional groups including (but not limited to) project management, project controls, engineering, licensing, procurement, manufacturing, and construction/commissioning.
Manage Westinghouse project budgets, schedules, risks and resources to ensure on time and cost-effective project execution/delivery.
Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process.
Prepare or oversee project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including earned value management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements. Review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope.
Promote teamwork and effective communication, including issuing and maintenance of project progress metrics to ensure team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of project status.
Develop or oversee project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.
Effectively apply lessons learned from current project activities and communicate these to the offer development teams for new offer development bids and execution plans.
Develop people, organization, core processes, tools and necessary interfaces to accomplish activities/work scope.
Provide leadership and direction to the project team, ensuring a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and/or eliminate/mitigate any issues or risks.
Prepare and present regular project status reports to Westinghouse senior management as well as project stakeholders.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between all Westinghouse organizations and project stakeholders.
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of experience managing large-scale engineering, infrastructure, or energy projects.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with a Korean Customer (Doosan, KEPCO, and/or KHNP) along with strong customer interface skills.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and project teams from inception to completion.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience in working and leading across matrixed organizations.
Knowledge of nuclear power plant construction, operations and regulatory requirements is required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in Asia and Europe and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability to travel to domestic and international sites (10 to 30% minimum time).
Familiarity with a broad range of nuclear plant design, licensing and operational areas.
On site nuclear power plant construction or maintenance experience.
Familiarity with the APR nuclear reactor technology.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Above average ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers for whom English is a second language.
