About the role:

As a Manager, Quality Programs and Internal Assessments you will ensure regulatory compliance and improvement of the Westinghouse Internal Audit Program and the Quality management system, processes, and procedures. You will implement the Internal Audit Program, including the auditor qualification program, and ensure it remains in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. You will help set governance and oversight expectations by establishing metrics and monitoring for trends and risk. The manager will lead a team of quality individual contributors, who report directly or through a matrix structure. You will perform internal audits, management reviews, procedure management, document management, and third-party registrar/customer coordination. You will support operating experience and other quality process improvement projects. You will report to the Senior Director, Global Quality and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA headquarters location. This is a hybrid role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Westinghouse Internal Audit Program. Manage the internal audit schedule, assigning lead auditors, and assisting in the audit staffing. Lead internal quality audits, approve audit plans and reports, and accomplish audits within the approved budget.

  • Lead efforts associated with maintaining the Westinghouse Quality Management System to ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001, ISO 19443, NQA-1, ESPN, and others.

  • Maintain the corporate cross-organizational ISO certifications.

  • Be the liaison/coordinator for third-party inquiries and audits, including government regulatory agencies, customers, industry entities and registrars (i.e. NUPIC, ISO, NIAC). Ensure appropriate response and closure of issues and recommendations.

  • Develop, trend and report quality metrics that measure the effectiveness of our quality management processes/procedures and identify opportunities to lead quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and gather Corporate/BU/GOS QEHS inputs necessary to perform a Westinghouse level management review that shows our compliance with regulations and elevates any risks or gaps that require mitigation or improvement to Westinghouse leadership.

  • Lead change management efforts to support improvement projects.

  • Support the operating experience process to ensure learning is being shared throughout Westinghouse.

  • Promote the development of process maps and revise Corporate QEHS level procedures to support changes of moving to an electronic procedures system in the future.

  • Complete consolidation of the records storage systems.

  • Monitor progress of projects and direct teams to achieve established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints.

  • Help share resources to implement Corporate-owned Processes.

  • Develop well defined group training requirements and set expectations for team performance reviews and identify areas for development and opportunities for growth.

  • Provide support to acquisition teams for performing and developing GAP analysis and interface agreements.

  • We identify support sites to onboard to the Westinghouse ISO certificates.

  • Benchmark and implement a plan to combine the Quality, EHS, and select BMS procedures into an integrated Management System

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Technical degree preferred.

  • 10+ years in Quality Assurance, Regulatory or other applicable technical function, with previous management experience preferred.

  • Work experience or knowledge in working in global organizations and operations.

  • Working knowledge and application of international standards, national regulations, and industry standards are important. These include International Standards Organization ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, US NRC Regulations 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21, ASME NQA-1, Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire regulations ESPN, and national agreement standards for quality assurance. The latter encompasses ASME B&PV Code, RCC-M, ANSI N45.2, daughter standards, IEEE standards, CSA Codes, NIRM standards.

  • We prefer qualification as a Lead Auditor, either for ISO 9001 or ANSI 45.2.23/NQA-1 for the U.S. or acceptable experience leading an internal audit program.

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $112,400 to $140,500 per year.
