The Manager, Quality Programs & Internal Assessments will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and continual improvement of the Westinghouse Internal Audit Program and the Quality management system, processes, and procedures.  In this role, the manager will be responsible for ensuring the Internal Audit Program, including the auditor qualification program, is executed and remains in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.  For the quality programs the manager will help set governance and oversight expectations by establishing metrics and monitoring for trends and risk. Through direction of a team consisting of direct or matrix reporting quality individual contributors, the manager will use a structured and optimized approach to support the organization in performing internal audits, management reviews, procedure management, document management, third-party registrar coordination, operating experience and other improvement initiatives.  

 

This role will be hybrid/remote and will be expected to work in our Cranberry Township, PA HQ office 2-3 days per week.  

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Lead efforts associated with the Westinghouse Internal Audit Program, including developing/maintaining the internal audit schedule, assigning lead auditors and assisting in the audit staffing, approving audit plans and reports, executing audits within the approved budget, own/maintain the internal audit procedures, and working to increase the number of qualified lead auditors across the company.
  • Lead efforts associated with maintaining the Westinghouse Quality Management System, our Corporate-owned processes and procedures to be in compliance with global regulatory requirements (ISO 9001 IS0 19443, NQA-1, ESPN, etc.). 
  • Responsible for maintaining the corporate cross-organizational ISO certifications.
  • Act as liaison/coordinator for third-party inquiries and audits, including government regulatory agencies, customers, industry entities and registrars (i.e. NUPIC, ISO, NIAC, etc.).  Ensure appropriate response and closure of issues and recommendations.
  • Develop, trend and report key quality metrics that measure the effectiveness of our quality management processes/procedures and identify opportunities to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and gather Corporate/BU/GOS QEHS inputs necessary to perform a Westinghouse level management review that demonstrates our compliance with regulations and elevates any risks or gaps that require mitigation or improvement to Westinghouse leadership.
  • Lead change management efforts to support improvement projects.
  • Support the operating experience process to ensure learning is being shared throughout Westinghouse.
  • Drive the development of process maps and revise Corporate QEHS level procedures to support changes of moving to an electronic procedures system in the future.
  • Complete consolidation of the records storage systems.
  • Monitor progress of assignments/projects and direct teams to successfully achieve established quality objectives within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Support the sharing of resources in order to successfully implement Corporate-owned Processes.
  • Develop well defined group training requirements and set expectation for training timeliness; perform personnel performance reviews and identify areas for personnel development and opportunities for growth.
  • Provide support to acquisition teams for performing and developing GAP analysis and/or interface agreements, as requested.
  • Support sites identified to be onboarded to the Westinghouse ISO certificates as requested.
  • Benchmark and implement a plan to combine the Quality, EHS, and select BMS processes and procedures into an integrated Management System

 

Who You Are:

B.A. or B.S. degree in technical, legal, or business area.

10+ years in Quality Assurance, Regulatory or other applicable technical function, with previous management experience preferred.

 

Work experience or knowledge in working in various global organizations, operations, and processes within Westinghouse or other similar industries.

  • Working knowledge and application with international standards, national regulations, and industry standards such as International Standards Organization ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; US NRC Regulations 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21; Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire regulations ESPN; and national consensus standards for quality assurance, such as, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI ASME NQA-1, RCC-M, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards, IEEE standards, CSA Codes, NIRM standards, etc.
  • Qualification as a Lead Auditor preferred for either ISO 9001 or (ANSI 45.2.23/NQA-1) for U.S. or demonstrated experience with leading an internal audit program
